It’s been a long week at work… it’s already 6:30pm and you’re just barely on time for your rendez-vous at the salon. You made it, against all odds, through the traffic, the snow, and the cold! You think to yourself: “Finally, some time to get pampered!”
My clients often come in with half a smile and leave with a true feeling of satisfaction. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you the answer: HAIRAPY! Why do people feel so great after leaving the salon? As stylists, we try to provide a safe, feel-good environment where clients often feel comfortable enough to express themselves and share daily miss-haps, recent gossip, or even amazing “behind-the-scene” sales and deals. They share their feelings as well and we, as the STYLIST/CONFIDANTE, do our best to help resolve hair problems – and life problems. I am delighted at how a client can simply sit in my chair and instantly have complete confidence in me. That’s hairapy working its magic. It’s a win-win situation: when our hair is nice, you not only look better but feel better as well!
A client once said to me: “Jen, I can’t afford a therapist but I can afford a $30 blow-dry per week; and you are the closest thing to therapy I have!”
So as you walk in the salon to get your hair done on that stressful snowy day, you know that it will be worth every penny as your hairdresser listens unconditionally to your anecdotes and provides heartfelt advice. And after almost an entire hour in that chair, you are done! That coffee was the best thing to have warmed you up, you got all your problems off your chest, and your hair looks healthy and beautiful. You can’t help playing that Herbal Essences commercial through your head: “YES! YES! YESSSSSSSSSS!”
Hello? Oh yes… back to reality! But don’t you feel great? Walking away, you look stunning, and oh yes – you know it!

Wow, Jen it’s so true, Hairapy is magic! I have a few time assist the hairapy of a good friend of mine by a very good hair stylist in my neighbourhood and I can tell you by the sound “Mmm… Mmm…” my friend makes when her hands touch is hair that the hair massage he receive is truly amazing! It almost make me want to sit in that chair also… Anyway, nowadays, we keep running and rushing for anything, even for our leisure time, so to be sit still, relaxing while getting your hair done can only be good your body and mind.
I like your thought on the Hairapy and… I should get one too

As a “wiser” and mature person I can truly relate to what you wrote. It is always a treat to sit in your chair and be transformed in a certain way to a better looking more confident persona. After you have completed the transformation, I totally feel uplifted in spirits and the hairapy has accomplished it’s goal!!
